He is facing about a hundred years unless he can rally up some support. The feds are in negotiations with the church to get the 40,000+ he paid in tithing. It looks like that might be a done deal. The church does not like tainted money, especially the kind that come with a big trail of taintness. His wife bore her testimony, or it sounded more like she bore witness to the goodness of this low life who took advantage of the less fortunate. I was not there, having distanced myself years ago, but I still have contacts. She wanted the ward to write letters on his behalf. Funny thing is, that this would not have even phased me years ago, and even now, it gets a little blimp on my Mormon Behaving Badly Radar. My favorite thing to say about not going: It is not the people, I wish it was, it IS the church.
